
Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif has publicly called for the suspension of the Indian cricket team from International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments, following a highly controversial conclusion to the Asia Cup final. The dramatic events unfolded after India’s victory over Pakistan, when the Indian squad refused to accept the winner’s trophy and medals from the hands of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also holds the post of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman.

“The Indian cricket team is a strong candidate for suspension from the ICC after refusing to collect the Asia Cup trophy and awards from the ACC Chairman,” Latif stated. He suggested that such an act of non-compliance would typically result in swift disciplinary action in almost any other sport.
