New Delhi, November 14,2025:A meticulously planned terror plot, which was intended to strike the national capital, has been exposed following the recovery of a massive cache of bomb-making materials near Delhi. Nearly 2,900 kg of explosive substances, including approximately 2,600 kg of NPK fertilizer and hundreds of kilograms of ammonium nitrate, were seized by investigators from two rented rooms in Faridabad. This enormous stockpile is believed to have been sufficient for the manufacture of multiple powerful Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

Stockpiling and Procurement

The explosive-making materials were allegedly procured by a “white-collar terror module,” whose members included medical professionals. It has been reported that over ₹26 lakh was pooled by the suspects to purchase the necessary components. The NPK fertilizer was bought in bulk—around 20-26 quintals—from suppliers in Gurugram, Nuh, and nearby towns. Ammonium nitrate, which is commonly used as a fertilizer but also functions as a powerful oxidiser in explosives when mixed with fuel oil, was discovered concealed across two properties that were rented by one of the doctors.

The Conspiracy Uncovered

Evidence from notebooks and diaries was recovered from the lodgings of two suspects at Al-Falah University, indicating that a “spectacular attack” had been planned for over two years. Coded references, names, and dates between November 8 and 12 were found in the documents, suggesting that multiple attacks were being prepared.

The large quantity of explosive material was transported and stored discreetly in multiple batches over several weeks. A total of 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate was initially recovered, with the remaining 2,500 kg being seized later. The suspects, including doctors and academics, are being investigated for their links to terror outfits and for allegedly operating under instructions from foreign handlers. The entire network is currently being tracked down by a joint operation of the National Investigation Agency, along with the Haryana and J&K Police.

The entire episode has raised serious concerns about the monitoring of controlled substances and the infiltration of radical elements into professional institutions.
