New Delhi, December 27, 2025: As the year 2025 draws to a close, veteran Bollywood actress Bhagyashree, best known for her iconic debut in Maine Pyar Kiya, embarked on a soulful spiritual retreat to the ancient city of Varanasi. Seeking a moment of “pause and reconnect,” the actress visited the sacred Kashi Vishwanath and Kaal Bhairav temples, sharing her profound experiences with her followers.

Accompanied by her husband, Himalaya Dasani, Bhagyashree’s visit was more than just a celebrity appearance; it was a deeply personal journey of faith and gratitude.

A Spiritual Sign-off to 2025

Bhagyashree took to social media to share glimpses of her pilgrimage, describing Varanasi as a city that helps one realign with the universe. Her journey began with a visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas. Dressed in traditional attire, she offered prayers for peace and future guidance, noting that it is “faith in the Lord” that provides the confidence to step into the New Year.

Following the darshan of Lord Shiva, she visited the Kaal Bhairav Temple, known as the “Kotwal” or protector of Kashi. According to local lore, a visit to Varanasi is incomplete without seeking the blessings of Kaal Bhairav, a tradition the actress followed with great devotion.

Embracing the Essence of Kashi

The actress’s itinerary covered the spiritual spectrum of the city:

  • Sankat Mochan & Annapurna: She offered prayers at the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple—noting her luck at visiting on a Saturday—as well as the Mahamrityunjay and Annapurna Devi temples.
  • The Eternal Ghats: Bhagyashree spent time reflecting at the Dashashwamedh Ghat, witnessing the majestic Maha Ganga Aarti. She also visited the Manikarnika Ghat, where she observed the “quiet acceptance” of life’s ultimate truth.
  • Local Flavors: No trip to Banaras is complete without its street food. The actress was seen relishing the winter-special Malaiyo, sipping Tandoori Chai in kulhads, and enjoying the world-famous Banarasi Paan.

“Banaras was that pause and reconnect that helps us align ourselves with the universe. The tranquility of the Ganges absorbs every emotion, every fear.” — Bhagyashree

Preserving the Ancient Soul

During her interaction with the media, Bhagyashree expressed her deep-rooted connection to the city. While she acknowledged the modern developments like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, she passionately advocated for preserving the ancient soul of the city. She expressed a wish for the historic lanes and the 84 ghats to remain untouched by heavy transportation, preserving the “peace and comfort” that only the old town of Kashi can provide.

As she concluded her visit, Bhagyashree noted that Varanasi is a place where one “loses themselves to find themselves,” leaving the city with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit renewed for 2026.
