New Delhi, january 29, 2026: The mist is back, and it’s thicker than ever. Netflix India has officially dropped the trailer for Kohrra Season 2, signaling a return to the gritty, atmospheric world that made the first season a sleeper hit. This time, the procedural shifts its focus to the town of Dalerpura, where a brutal new murder case forces old wounds to reopen.
The trailer opens on a chilling note: the body of a woman named Preet Bajwa (played by Pooja Bhamrrah) is discovered in her brother’s barn. The crime is gruesome, marked by a disturbing lack of tracks—blood-soaked footsteps lead into the house, but none lead out.
As the investigation unfolds, the list of suspects grows to include Preet’s brother (Anurag Arora) and her estranged husband (Rannvijay Singha), who resides in the US with their children. What follows is a classic Sudip Sharma procedural—a “dense whodunnit” that uses a murder as a lens to examine the messy, often toxic, relationships hidden behind closed doors in rural Punjab.
While the first season was anchored by the chemistry between Barun Sobti and Suvinder Vicky, Season 2 introduces a fresh dynamic. Barun Sobti reprises his fan-favorite role as Assistant Sub-Inspector Amarpal Garundi, but he has been transferred to a new station and finds himself reporting to a new boss.
Enter Mona Singh as Sub-Inspector Dhanwant Kaur. Singh describes her character as a woman of “immense resolve and few words.” Unlike the more visceral energy of previous leads, Kaur brings a restrained, methodical approach to the case. The trailer highlights the friction and eventual synergy between Garundi’s instinct-driven style and Kaur’s quiet authority. Both officers are fighting their own “personal demons”—Garundi is trying to outrun his past, while Kaur is navigating her own grief and the pressure to prove herself in a male-dominated force.
The series remains in capable hands, with Sudip Sharma (the mind behind Paatal Lok) making his directorial debut this season alongside Faisal Rahman. The creators have promised that while the case is the engine, the emotional arcs of the characters remain the heart of the show.
“The mystery this time is denser and more layered,” Sobti shared in a recent statement. “Garundi is more introspective and guarded this season, negotiating with his own choices as the past refuses to let go.”
Fans won’t have to wait long to delve back into the fog. Kohrra Season 2 is set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on February 11, 2026. If the trailer is any indication, viewers should prepare for a slow-burn thriller that is as much a character study as it is a crime drama.
