Peeragarhi Triple Murder Solved: Self-Styled ‘Baba’ Arrested for Poisoning Trio with Laddoos

New Delhi, February 12, 2026: The Delhi Police have cracked the chilling mystery of the three bodies found inside a locked car on the Peeragarhi flyover earlier this week. What was initially suspected to be a suicide pact has turned out to be a cold-blooded triple murder executed by a 72-year-old self-styled “Baba” who lured his victims with the promise of supernatural wealth.

The accused, identified as Kamruddin alias “Baba,” was arrested on Wednesday. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sachin Sharma, the “Baba” had promised the trio a ritual called “Dhanvarsha” (Rain of Wealth), claiming he could triple their money through mystical powers.

On the day of the incident, the victims met Kamruddin in Loni. He instructed them to bring ₹2 lakh in cash, along with liquor and cold drinks, as essential components for the ritual.

“The accused prepared laddoos mixed with poison and joined the three in their car. During the journey toward Peeragarhi, he persuaded them to consume the sweets along with the drinks. Once they lost consciousness, he took the ₹2 lakh and fled the vehicle,” the DCP stated.

CCTV footage and technical surveillance were instrumental in the breakthrough. Digital footprints showed Kamruddin was the fourth person in the car, seen sitting in the front passenger seat before abandoning the vehicle an hour before the bodies were discovered.

A Trail of Death: The ‘Baba’s’ Dark Past

The arrest has opened a Pandora’s box regarding Kamruddin’s criminal history. Investigators found that he is a habitual offender with a pattern of targeting people seeking spiritual help or quick riches:

• 2014 (Rajasthan): Booked for the murder of a woman in Dholpur.
• 2025 (Uttar Pradesh): Accused of killing two men in Firozabad using the exact same “poisoned sweets” method.
• Other Suspected Cases: Police are currently investigating his potential involvement in at least five other suspicious deaths across North India.

Victims’ Background

The victims came from diverse backgrounds but were united by their connection to the occultist. Laxmi Devi had originally sought the “Baba’s” help to treat her ailing husband. She was later convinced of his “wealth-multiplying” powers and introduced him to Naresh and Randhir.

Randhir Singh, the eldest victim, was described by family as a prosperous man who earned significant rental income and was known for his philanthropic donations to cow shelters. Kamruddin has been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for murder and administering poison. He is currently in police custody as forensic teams work to identify the specific chemical composition of the poison used in the laddoos.
