NIOS Class 10, 12 April 2026 Date Sheet Released; Exams From April 10

New Delhi, March 26, 2026: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has officially released the theory examination date sheet for the April-May 2026 session. Students enrolled in Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) can now access the full schedule on the official NIOS portal.

According to the announcement, the theory examinations are set to commence on April 10, 2026, and will conclude on May 6, 2026.

NIOS April 2026 Exam: Key Highlights

The exams will be conducted at various designated centers across India and overseas. Most papers are scheduled for the afternoon shift, typically from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, though students should note that certain vocational and music subjects may have shorter durations.

Class 10 (Secondary)

The Secondary exams kick off with Folk Art and Sanskrit Sahitya. Some major subject dates include:

Class 12 (Senior Secondary)

Note on Regional Changes: NIOS has clarified that in certain states—including Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh—minor adjustments have been made to specific dates due to assembly elections and local competitive exams. Students in these regions are advised to double-check their specific state schedules.

Important Instructions for Students

1. Admit Cards: Hall tickets for the theory exams will be available for download on the official SDMIS portal shortly before the start of the exams.
2. Reading Time: Students will be provided an additional 15 minutes (from 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM) to read the question paper before they begin writing.
3. Identity Verification: It is mandatory to carry the NIOS Identity Card and the Theory Examination Hall Ticket to the center.
4. Practical Marks: Ensure that practical exams (currently ongoing until April 1) are completed, as these marks are essential for the final result calculation.
