New Delhi, December 26, 2025: In a major shake-up of India’s IT hiring landscape, Infosys has announced a massive recruitment drive for the 2025 batch, offering entry-level salary packages of up to ₹21 lakh per annum (LPA). As the company doubles down on its “AI-first” strategy, it aims to hire approximately 20,000 freshers this fiscal year, signaling a shift toward high-value, specialized roles.
For over a decade, starting salaries for Indian engineering graduates have hovered around ₹3.5 LPA. Infosys is effectively shattering this ceiling by introducing a tiered compensation structure that rewards deep technical expertise.
The new pay scale targets “digitally native” talent through two primary tracks: the Specialist Programmer and the Digital Specialist Engineer.
| Role | Package (per annum) |
| Specialist Programmer L3 (Trainee) | ₹21 Lakh |
| Specialist Programmer L2 (Trainee) | ₹16 Lakh |
| Specialist Programmer L1 (Trainee) | ₹11 Lakh |
| Digital Specialist Engineer (Trainee) | ₹7 Lakh |
The drive is primarily focused on 2025 graduating students. To qualify for the high-paying tracks, candidates must meet rigorous academic and skill-based criteria.
The ₹21 LPA package isn’t for generalists. Infosys is looking for “Power Programmers” who excel in:
The IT industry is undergoing a paradigm shift. According to Infosys Group CHRO Shaji Mathew, the company’s “AI-First” approach requires talent that can do more than just write code—they must be able to build complex AI agents and navigate advanced digital ecosystems.
By offering ₹21 lakh, Infosys is not only competing with traditional IT rivals like TCS (which offers up to ₹11 LPA for its “Prime” track) but also with high-paying product startups and global tech giants.
The hiring process is conducted through both on-campus placements at premium institutes and off-campus registration links. Interested 2025 graduates should monitor the Infosys Careers Portal or participate in upcoming rounds of HackWithInfy to be considered for the Specialist Programmer track.
With 12,000 freshers already onboarded in the first half of the year, the remaining 8,000 spots are expected to be filled quickly as the company reaches its 20,000-hire goal.
