New Delhi | April 3, 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is in the final stages of preparing the results for the Class 10 and Class 12 Board Examinations 2026. Millions of students across the country and abroad are currently waiting for an official announcement regarding the result date and time. According to the latest reports and evaluation trends, the CBSE Class 10 results are expected to be released by late April or the first week of May 2026, followed shortly by the Class 12 results.

CBSE Results 2026: Expected Date and Time

While the CBSE has not yet issued a circular confirming the exact date, top board officials have hinted at an expedited evaluation process this year.

  • CBSE Class 10 Result: Tentatively expected between April 20 and May 5, 2026.
  • CBSE Class 12 Result: Tentatively expected between May 5 and May 15, 2026.
  • Expected Time: Historically, CBSE releases results in the afternoon, usually around 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Why the Results Might Arrive Early This Year

For the 2026 academic cycle, several factors contribute to a potentially earlier release:

  1. Digital Evaluation: The board has scaled up its digital evaluation system, allowing for faster and more accurate checking of answer scripts.
  2. Two-Board Exam Policy: With the introduction of the new structural changes where Class 10 students may have a second board exam opportunity (Phase 2) starting May 15, the board is keen on releasing Phase 1 results promptly to allow students to plan their next steps.
  3. Academic Calendar Alignment: Early results help in streamlining the admission process for Class 11 and undergraduate courses in universities.

  • UMANG App: The Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) also hosts CBSE results under the ‘Education’ category.
  • SMS Service: Students can receive their results via SMS by sending a message in the format: cbse10 <rollno> <sch no> <center no> to 7738299899.

Passing Criteria and Key Stats

To pass the CBSE exams, students must secure a minimum of 33% marks in each subject as well as in the aggregate. For Class 12, students must pass both theory and practical exams separately.

Over 43 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Board exams this year. The Class 10 exams concluded on March 11, while the Class 12 exams wrapped up in early April. The board has cautioned students and parents against falling for fake news or unverified result links circulating on social media, advising them to rely strictly on official notifications from the CBSE website.
