New Delhi, November 27, 2025: The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has officially released the notification for the State Service Examination (SSE) 2025, announcing a total of 238 vacancies for various prestigious administrative posts. This highly anticipated recruitment drive opens the doors for aspiring candidates to join the state’s top services, including key positions like Deputy Collector and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Eligibility and Selection Process

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CGPSC SSE 2025, candidates must meet the following basic requirements:

  1. Educational Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) or equivalent from a recognized university.
  2. Age Limit: The general age limit is 21 to 30 years as of January 1, 2025 (The age limit for the DSP post is 21 to 28 years). Age relaxations apply for candidates domiciled in Chhattisgarh, as well as for reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC) and other eligible groups as per state government rules, with the upper age limit extended up to 35 or 45 years in certain cases.

Selection Stages

The examination will follow the established three-tier structure:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Prelims): This is an objective-type screening test with two papers: General Studies (Paper I) and an Aptitude Test (Paper II). Only Paper I is used for merit ranking, while Paper II is qualifying.
  2. Main Examination (Mains): Candidates who clear the Prelims will appear for the Mains, which consists of seven descriptive-type papers. This stage is crucial for final selection.
  3. Interview/Personality Test: The final stage is an interview round (100 marks) conducted for those who qualify for the Mains.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks obtained in the Main Examination (1400 marks) and the Interview (100 marks). The Commission has clarified that the exam pattern and syllabus for 2025 remain the same as the previous year, with no major changes introduced.
