Medical aspirants across the nation are on tenterhooks as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is poised to declare the results for the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) July 2025 session. While the official declaration date is set for May 24, 2025, there is speculation that the results might be released earlier, possibly by today, May 23, 2025, considering past trends where results were announced approximately six days after the examination. The INI CET July 2025 session exam was conducted on May 17, 2025.

Accessing Your Results and Scorecard:

Once declared, candidates will be able to access their results and download their scorecards from the official AIIMS website: aiimsexams.ac.in. To do so, they will need to log in using their Application Number, Exam Unique Code (EUC), and Password.

The INI CET result will be released in PDF format, containing the roll numbers, overall ranks, category-wise ranks, and percentile scores of the qualified candidates. It is crucial for all candidates to download and save their scorecards for future reference, especially for the upcoming counselling process.

Understanding the Cut-off and Merit List:

To qualify for the INI CET exam, candidates must achieve a minimum percentile score, which varies by category. For General, EWS, Sponsored, Deputed, Foreign Nationals, and OCI candidates, the qualifying percentile is 50th. For SC, ST, and OBC candidates, as well as Bhutanese nationals applying through PGI Chandigarh, the cut-off is 45th percentile.

Based on these cut-off scores, AIIMS will release a merit list comprising the eligible candidates for the counselling rounds. In case of a tie in scores, candidates with fewer negative responses will be ranked higher. If the tie persists, the older candidate will be given preference.

The Crucial Counselling Process:

Qualifying the INI CET is the first step; the next significant stage is the online counselling process. This multi-round process will determine seat allotments for postgraduate medical courses (MD, MS, MCh (6 years), DM (6 years), and MDS) offered by prestigious institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS, and SCTIMST.

The counselling typically involves the following steps:

  1. Online Registration: Candidates must register on the official AIIMS counselling portal, providing personal and exam-related details to generate new login credentials.
  2. Choice Filling and Locking: This is a critical stage where candidates log in to the portal and indicate their preferred courses and colleges. Once choices are locked, they generally cannot be changed. A mock round is often conducted to help candidates familiarize themselves with the process and adjust their preferences.
  3. Seat Allotment: Based on merit, choices filled, availability of seats, and reservation policies, seats will be allotted to candidates. The seat allotment results for each round will be published separately.
  4. Acceptance/Rejection of Seat: Candidates will have options to accept the allotted seat (with or without willingness to participate in subsequent rounds for an upgrade) or reject it. Failure to select an option or report to the allotted institute within the stipulated time can lead to forfeiture of the seat and ineligibility for further rounds, except for the open round.
  5. Reporting to the Institute: Candidates who accept their allotted seats must report to the designated institute with all required documents for verification and admission confirmation.

Aspirants are strongly advised to keep a close watch on the official AIIMS website (aiimsexams.ac.in) for the latest updates regarding the result declaration, scorecard release, and the detailed counselling schedule. Staying informed and prepared is key to a smooth admission journey.
