New Delhi, january 28, 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an urgent public notice regarding the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2026 application process. With the registration window nearing its end, the agency has advised aspirants to complete their submissions immediately to avoid last-minute technical hurdles.

As of today, January 28, 2026, the application portal is active, but only a few days remain for candidates to secure their chance for admission into undergraduate programs across Central, State, Deemed, and Private Universities for the academic session 2026-27.

Key Deadlines for CUET UG 2026

The NTA has laid out a strict timeline for the 2026 examination cycle. Candidates are encouraged to note the following dates:

Important Application Instructions

To ensure a smooth registration process, the NTA has highlighted several critical points in its latest notice:

  • Mode of Application: Applications are accepted online only. Forms sent via post, fax, or email will not be considered.
  • Single Application Policy: A candidate is permitted to submit only one application form. Multiple applications may lead to disqualification.
  • Subject Selection: For 2026, candidates can choose a maximum of five subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test.
  • Document Specifications: * Photograph: Must be recent, in color or B&W, with 80% face visibility against a white background.
    • Signature: Scanned signature should be between 10 KB to 50 KB in JPG/JPEG format.
    • Identity: Aadhaar authentication or DigiLocker is preferred for identity verification.

CUET UG 2026 Exam Pattern & Medium

The CUET (UG) 2026 will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. To maintain inclusivity, the exam will be held in 13 mediums: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The examination will take place in various cities across India and at 15 international centers, facilitating NRI and foreign students seeking admission to Indian higher education institutions.

Steps to Apply for CUET UG 2026

  1. Registration: Visit cuet.nta.nic.in and register using a valid email ID and mobile number.
  2. Fill Application Form: Complete the personal and academic details and select your desired universities and programs.
  3. Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and category certificates (if applicable).
  4. Fee Payment: Pay the application fee using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.
  5. Confirmation: Download and print the “Confirmation Page” for future reference.
