The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, has officially declared the results for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or Class 12th examinations for the year 2025. The announcement, made earlier today, brings relief and excitement to the large cohort of students who appeared for these crucial state board exams.

This year’s results showcase a commendable overall pass percentage of 95.03%, indicating a continued trend of strong academic performance among Tamil Nadu’s Class 12 students.   • Via DigiLocker: Students can also access their digital marksheets through the DigiLocker mobile application and website (results.digilocker.gov.in). They will need to log in to their DigiLocker account, sync their Aadhaar number if not already done, and then pull their Tamil Nadu Board results.

District-wise Performance:

This year, Ariyalur district has emerged as the top-performing district in the state, securing the highest pass percentage of 98.82%. Following closely are Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, and Kanyakumari, showcasing the consistent academic excellence in these regions. On the other end, Vellore recorded the lowest pass percentage.

School-wise Performance:

An impressive number of schools across Tamil Nadu have achieved outstanding results. Out of the 7,513 participating schools, 2,638 schools have recorded a perfect 100% pass rate. This includes 436 government schools, highlighting the commendable performance of institutions across different categories. The pass percentages for different school categories are as follows:

  • Government Schools: 91.94%
  • Government-Aided Schools: 95.71%
  • Private Schools: 98.88%

Subject-wise Highlights:

The subject-wise performance reveals significant achievements by students in various disciplines. Notably, Computer Science saw the highest number of students scoring a perfect 100 marks, with 9,536 students achieving this feat. Other subjects with a significant number of centum scorers include Chemistry (3,181), Mathematics (3,022), and Commerce (1,624).

The supplementary exams are tentatively scheduled to begin from June 25, 2025.
