New Delhi | February 5, 2026 — The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the results for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2025 session. Aspirants who appeared for the prestigious national-level eligibility exam can now access their scorecards through the official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The declaration brings an end to the wait for nearly 10 lakh registered candidates. The exams were conducted across the country between December 31, 2025, and January 7, 2026, covering 85 diverse subjects in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
According to the official data released by the NTA, the examination saw a significant turnout. Here are the primary statistics:
This session marks a continued trend of high participation from female candidates, who made up approximately 58.9% of the total registrations.
Along with the results, the NTA has published the subject-wise and category-wise cut-off marks. As expected, competitive subjects like Economics, Political Science, and Psychology saw high benchmarks for the Unreserved (UR) category.
| Subject | JRF Cut-Off (UR) | Assistant Professor (UR) | PhD Only (UR) |
| Economics | 232 | 200 | 170 |
| Political Science | 214 | 188 | 164 |
| Psychology | 234 | 206 | 182 |
| Commerce | 218 | 186 | 158 |
The cut-off is determined based on several factors, including the number of participants, the difficulty level of the shifts, and the overall performance of candidates. For subjects held in multiple shifts, the NTA utilized an equi-percentile normalization method to ensure fairness.
