The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2025 examination. This declaration marks a crucial moment for countless individuals across India aspiring to establish their careers in academia and research.

The prestigious national-level examination, which serves as a gateway for eligibility for Assistant Professor positions and/or Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges, was conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. Candidates appeared for the exam at various centers nationwide from June 25 to June 29, 2025.

A total of 752,007 candidates participated in this cycle of the UGC NET. Out of these, 5,269 candidates have successfully qualified for both JRF and Assistant Professor roles, demonstrating exceptional academic prowess. Additionally, 54,885 candidates have secured eligibility for Assistant Professor and Ph.D. admissions, while 128,179 candidates have qualified for Ph.D. admissions only. These figures highlight the competitive nature of the examination and the significant opportunities it unlocks for successful candidates.

In its commitment to transparency and fairness, the NTA had previously released the provisional answer key, allowing candidates a window to review and raise objections. The final results, now available, have been meticulously prepared after a thorough review of these objections and based on the final, validated answer key.

Candidates can now access their scorecards, which provide a comprehensive breakdown of their performance, including subject-wise marks, percentile scores, and their qualifying status for Assistant Professor, JRF, or both. Successful candidates will be issued certificates that are indispensable for their future academic and research endeavors. It is important to note that the eligibility for Assistant Professor is lifelong, while the JRF validity extends for a period of three years from the date of issuance.

This announcement brings immense relief and excitement to the successful candidates, enabling them to pursue higher education and contribute to the academic landscape of the nation. The UGC NET remains a pivotal examination for maintaining the standards of teaching and research in Indian higher education institutions.
