New Delhi | January 6, 2026 — The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the results for the November 2025 recruitment examinations. This announcement marks a significant milestone for aspirants eyeing prestigious positions as Assistant Directors and Marketing Officers within various Union Ministries.

A total of 97 candidates have successfully cleared the written stage and are now set to advance to the final hurdle: the personality test or interview round.

Breakdown of Shortlisted Candidates

The recruitment drive was conducted to fill specialized roles across three major departments. According to the official notification, the selection is distributed as follows:

  • Assistant Director (Operations): 42 candidates have been shortlisted for these roles within the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
  • Marketing Officer (Group I): 33 candidates qualified for positions under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
  • Personal Assistant: 22 candidates have been recommended for the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Vacancies and Unfilled Seats

While many celebrated their success, the Commission also highlighted some challenges in finding suitable matches for specific reserved categories. Notably:

  • Assistant Director Posts: Seven seats reserved for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) remain vacant as no candidates met the suitability criteria.
  • Marketing Officer Posts: A significant number of seats across various categories—including SC, ST, OBC, and EWS—remained unfilled due to a lack of suitable candidates.
  • Pending Litigation: Results for two specific seats (one EWS and one OBC) have been kept in a “sealed cover” pending the final outcome of court cases currently before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT).

What Happens Next?

The shortlisted candidates will now undergo a rigorous Personality Test at the UPSC headquarters in New Delhi. This stage is designed to assess not just technical knowledge, but the inherent leadership qualities, intellectual integrity, and social traits of the aspirants.
