“Aadujeevitham” Joins Oscars Race

The Malayalam film “Aadujeevitham” has been selected in the initial round for the 97th Academy Awards in the Best Picture category. This is a rare feat for an Indian film, as they typically compete in the International Feature Film category. Voting for the final nominations will begin on January 8, 2025 and end on January 12, 2025.  

“Aadujeevitham”, also known as “The Goat Life”, is based on a popular novel by Benyamin and features Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role as Najeeb. The film tells the story of Najeeb, a goatherd who faces harrowing challenges as an Indian migrant in the Gulf.

The film has already garnered critical acclaim and won seven state awards, including Best Actor for Prithviraj. It is one of seven Indian films to be shortlisted for the Best Picture category at the 97th Academy Awards.
