New Delhi, March 12, 2026: The wait is finally over for fans of the iconic “Khiladi” and the master of situational comedy. The official teaser for Bhooth Bangla was unveiled today, March 12, 2026, marking the long-anticipated reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after 16 years.
Their last collaboration was the 2010 satire Khatta Meetha, but this new venture promises a return to the high-energy horror-comedy roots that made Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) a cult classic.
The 83-second teaser introduces us to a sprawling, eerie mansion in the town of Mangalpur. Known for its dark legends—specifically a curse that forbids weddings within its walls—the “Bangla” serves as the perfect playground for Priyadarshan’s signature chaotic storytelling.
The footage opens with a classic spooky aesthetic, only to be immediately undercut by Akshay Kumar’s impeccable comic timing. His character, a skeptic who insists ghosts don’t exist, humorously compares the haunted estate to Buckingham Palace, claiming it’s only “two rooms smaller.” The teaser effectively balances “screams and surprises” with witty punchlines, culminating in a glimpse of a supernatural entity known as Vadhusur.
Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures and Cape of Good Films, Bhooth Bangla is a grand-scale production. The film’s screenplay is a collaborative effort between Priyadarshan, Rohan Shankar, and Abilash Nair, with dialogue penned by Shankar.
Music for the film is composed by Pritam, whose recent track “Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge“ has already topped charts. The film was shot across diverse locations including London, Hyderabad, and Kerala, with a massive palace set constructed at Ramoji Film City for the climax.
Bhooth Bangla is slated for a theatrical release on April 10, 2026.
The film enters the market during a busy window, arriving just weeks after Ranveer Singh’s action-thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge. However, industry analysts expect the “Priyadarshan-Akshay” brand to dominate the family audience segment, especially given the current resurgence of the horror-comedy genre in Bollywood.
With its blend of haunted havelis, skeletal hands, and legendary comedians, Bhooth Bangla looks set to be the “homecoming” fans have requested for over a decade.
