Television actress Charu Asopa has recently found herself at the receiving end of online criticism after documenting her shopping spree for her new house in Bikaner. Following her divorce from Rajeev Sen, Sushmita Sen’s brother, Charu relocated to her hometown with their daughter, Ziana. A recent video showcasing her online clothing sale led some netizens to speculate about her financial situation, assuming her move was due to a financial crunch.

However, Charu has now addressed these speculations head-on in her latest vlog, vehemently refuting claims of financial distress. The actress clarified that she never portrayed herself as being poor. In a firm statement, she said, “I keep giving you guys updates. People commented on why I travelled by flight and not train. The brand invited me and insisted on booking a flight. Some even made videos of me shopping and said, ‘Yeh toh gareeb hai’. Pehli baat, maine kabhi nahi bola ke main gareeb hu. By God’s grace, I’m managing fine. I don’t want sympathy – I’ve taken a conscious break from TV to explore other things. That was my decision.”

Charu further elaborated on her recent purchases for her new abode, which seemed to have triggered the online scrutiny. She explained that she bought the house through a loan, with the EMI being almost equivalent to her previous rent in Mumbai, highlighting the advantage of a fixed EMI compared to the ever-increasing rent.

Addressing her shopping choices, Charu stated, “I’ve bought an AC, and I’m creating a play area for Ziana. I found a good fridge, but it’s expensive – so I’ll cut down on other things to get what’s needed. I still need geysers and a vacuum cleaner. I’m buying slowly, within my means.” She emphasized her careful approach to managing her budget while setting up her new home.

The actress also clarified that her decision to take a break from daily soaps was a conscious one, allowing her to explore other opportunities and prioritize her daughter’s well-being in Bikaner. She asserted that she continues to receive offers from producers but prefers to stay in her hometown for the time being.

Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen tied the knot in 2019, but their marriage faced turbulence, ultimately leading to their divorce. They continue to co-parent their daughter, Ziana. With her recent statements, Charu has firmly addressed the online chatter, asserting her financial stability and her thoughtful approach to building a new life for herself and her daughter.
