In a heartwarming revelation that has captivated fans and cinephiles alike, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan recently shared a nostalgic anecdote about his childhood experience working with the legendary Rajinikanth in the 1986 film ‘Bhagwaan Dada’. The revelation came during the trailer launch of the docu-series ‘The Roshans’, which chronicles the illustrious journey of the Roshan family in the Indian film industry.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

The event, attended by Hrithik Roshan, Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan, and Netflix VP Monika Shergill, offered a glimpse into the Roshan family’s legacy. It was during this event that Hrithik took a trip down memory lane, recalling his time as a child artist on the sets of ‘Bhagwaan Dada’.

Directed by Hrithik’s maternal grandfather, J. Om Prakash, ‘Bhagwaan Dada’ was a family drama that featured Rajinikanth in the titular role, alongside Rakesh Roshan and the late Sridevi. For a young Hrithik, working on this film was a unique experience, one that he now fondly remembers.

‘He Was Rajini Uncle For Me’

Hrithik’s most striking revelation was about his perception of Rajinikanth at the time. Unaware of the Tamil superstar’s immense stardom, the young Hrithik simply knew him as ‘Rajini Uncle’. This innocent perspective allowed him to interact with Rajinikanth without any of the awe or reverence that most people would have.

“I had no idea that I was standing with the greatest legend of all time,” Hrithik shared. “For me, he was Rajini Uncle. I used to talk to him like, ‘Yeah, no.’ I had my way with him.”

This candid recollection paints a picture of a young Hrithik, unfazed by the presence of a cinematic giant, interacting with him with the ease and familiarity of a family member. It speaks volumes about Rajinikanth’s down-to-earth nature and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

A Generous and Gentle Superstar

Hrithik’s admiration for Rajinikanth extends beyond their friendly interactions. He also shared an incident that showcased Rajinikanth’s generosity and gentle nature.

“He was so gentle and so giving,” Hrithik recalled. “Whenever I messed up a shot, my grandfather used to cut the shot. And Rajini sir used to take the blame, saying, ‘Sorry, sorry, sorry. My fault.’ But it was my fault. Every single time I made a mistake, Rajini sir took the blame so that the child would not become conscious. So it was incredible.”

This anecdote reveals Rajinikanth’s thoughtfulness and his willingness to protect a child’s confidence. It’s a testament to his character and his understanding of the pressures of being on a film set, especially for a child artist.

A Desire to Work Together Again

Hrithik’s reminiscence wasn’t just a nostalgic recounting of the past; it also included a desire for the future. He expressed his wish to work with Rajinikanth again, this time as an adult and a fellow actor.

“Today, if I get a chance to work with him, I will be very different,” Hrithik said. “I will realize the burden and the weight of the moment that I am sharing the screen space with him. My God!”

This statement reflects Hrithik’s growth and maturity, both as an individual and as an actor. He now understands the magnitude of Rajinikanth’s stardom and the significance of sharing screen space with him. It also indicates his deep respect for Rajinikanth and his desire to collaborate with him on a project that would do justice to their combined talents.

The Roshans: A Legacy Unveiled

The docu-series ‘The Roshans’ is set to delve into the lives and legacy of the Roshan family, one of Bollywood’s most iconic families. It will explore the contributions of the late Roshan Lal Nagrath, also known as Roshan Saab, and his descendants, including filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, composer Rajesh Roshan, and actor Hrithik Roshan.

The series promises to offer an intimate look at the family’s journey, their struggles, their passion, and their immense contribution to Hindi cinema. It will also feature insights from various personalities who have been associated with the Roshan family over the years.

Hrithik’s anecdote about Rajinikanth is just one of the many stories that are expected to be shared in ‘The Roshans’. The series is poised to be a captivating exploration of a family that has played a significant role in shaping the Indian film industry.

A Timeless Connection

Hrithik Roshan’s recollection of his time with Rajinikanth on the sets of ‘Bhagwaan Dada’ is more than just a nostalgic story; it’s a reminder of the timeless connections that cinema can create. It’s a story of innocence, generosity, and mutual respect, a story that resonates with audiences across generations.

As fans eagerly await the release of ‘The Roshans’, this anecdote serves as a heartwarming prelude, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of stories that the series is set to unveil. It’s a testament to the enduring power of cinema and its ability to forge bonds that last a lifetime.
