New Delhi, February 9, 2026: Rani Mukerji’s return as the indomitable Shivani Shivaji Roy continues to resonate with audiences as Mardaani 3 completes its second weekend. Despite facing a titanic clash at the ticket windows with the war-epic Border 2, the third installment of Yash Raj Films’ gritty cop franchise has successfully sailed past the ₹50 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
The film, which focuses on the harrowing reality of girl child trafficking, has shown remarkable resilience. While the numbers are modest compared to massive action blockbusters, the “Mardaani” brand remains a beacon for socially conscious cinema.
After a stable first week, Mardaani 3 witnessed a necessary uptick during its second weekend. The film benefited from positive word-of-mouth, particularly in urban centers and multiplexes.
The global appeal of Rani Mukerji’s performance has significantly boosted the film’s bottom line. As of Day 10, the worldwide gross has reached ₹50.55 crore, with the overseas market contributing nearly $1.3 million (₹11.75 crore).
Mardaani 3 is currently pacing to overtake the lifetime collection of the original 2014 Mardaani (₹35.65 Cr). While it still has some ground to cover to match the ₹47.35 crore domestic haul of Mardaani 2, the third chapter’s performance is being viewed as a victory for mid-budget, female-led thrillers in a post-pandemic market dominated by “masala” entertainers.
Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, Mardaani 3 faces a crowded release calendar. While Border 2 continues to dominate the mass circuits, new releases like Vadh 2 are vying for screen space. Furthermore, the upcoming Valentine’s Day weekend brings competition from Shahid Kapoor’s O’ Romeo and the Hollywood drama Wuthering Heights.
Industry experts believe that if Mardaani 3 can maintain a steady pace through the weekdays, it could look at a lifetime finish of ₹60–65 crore worldwide, cementing its status as a successful addition to the franchise.
