The Punjabi entertainment industry is mourning the untimely demise of popular singer and actor Rajvir Jawanda, who passed away at the age of 35 after a valiant but ultimately unsuccessful battle for his life following a severe road accident.

Jawanda, known for his powerful voice and hit songs like “Surname,” “Sardaari,” and “Kangani,” succumbed to his critical injuries after nearly an 11-day struggle at Fortis Hospital in Mohali. His death, which occurred on Wednesday morning, October 8, 2025, has sent a wave of shock and grief across his fans and the wider Punjabi community.

Details of the Fatal Accident

The tragic incident took place on September 27, 2025, near the Baddi area of Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district. The singer was reportedly riding his motorcycle, en route to Shimla, when the accident occurred. According to police and close friends, Jawanda’s bike, a high-capacity 1300cc model, collided with stray cattle that unexpectedly came onto the road, causing him to lose control and crash heavily.

The impact of the crash was devastating, leaving the young artist with severe and critical head and spinal injuries. He was first rushed to a local medical facility for emergency care, where he reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest, further complicating his condition. He was subsequently transferred to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, for advanced medical treatment.

A Critical Battle in the Hospital

Upon arrival at Fortis Hospital, Jawanda was immediately placed on advanced life support and a ventilator. A dedicated team of specialists from the critical care and neurosciences departments monitored him closely for nearly two weeks.

Despite the intensive medical efforts, hospital authorities consistently described his condition as “extremely critical.” Doctors noted that his neurological status remained poor, with “minimal brain activity” and no significant clinical improvement. Jawanda remained on prolonged ventilator support until he sadly passed away, succumbing to the insurmountable injuries.

A Life Cut Short: Legacy in Music and Film

Hailing from Pona village in Ludhiana’s Jagraon, Rajvir Jawanda had carved a significant place for himself in a relatively short career. Although he had initially completed training with the Punjab Police and considered a career in law enforcement, his passion for music led him to the entertainment industry, where he quickly became a celebrated figure.

His soulful and energetic songs resonated deeply with the Punjabi audience, establishing him as one of the region’s most promising artists. Beyond music, Jawanda also ventured into acting, receiving praise for his performances in popular Punjabi films, including Subedar Joginder Singh (2018), Jind Jaan (2019), and Mindo Taseeldarni (2019).

Tributes Pour In

News of his demise prompted an immediate and widespread outpouring of grief across social media. Fellow artists, political figures, and millions of fans shared heartfelt tributes, lamenting the loss of a vibrant talent who was “gone too soon.”

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who had visited the singer in the hospital to inquire about his health, expressed his deep sorrow. Other prominent figures from the Punjabi film and music fraternity, including singers and actors, also extended their condolences to his family, highlighting the void his passing leaves in the industry.

Rajvir Jawanda’s memory is celebrated as a humble, passionate artist whose voice and spirit will continue to echo in the hearts of his admirers, cementing his legacy in the world of Punjabi music and cinema.
