New Delhi, March 19, 2026: The metal world is buzzing as the first official trailer for the feature-length documentary “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition has finally dropped. Celebrating five decades of the East London legends, the film offers a high-octane look at the band’s rise from pub rockers to global icons—and it’s doing so with a star-studded cast of unlikely admirers.

From Academy Award winner Javier Bardem to hip-hop pioneer Chuck D and guitar revolutionary Tom Morello, the trailer showcases the massive, cross-genre influence of the “Beast.”

A Global Family of Fans

The trailer opens with a powerful sentiment from frontman Bruce Dickinson: ā€œIf you’re an Iron Maiden fan, you’re part of one family.ā€ This theme of universal connection is reinforced by the diverse array of public figures who appear in the film to testify to the band’s legacy.

  • Javier Bardem: The Dune and No Country for Old Men star, a long-time “metalhead,” brings a touch of Hollywood gravitas to the documentary, reflecting on the band’s “god-like” status in the pantheon of rock.
  • Tom Morello: The Rage Against the Machine guitarist discusses the technical precision and uncompromising vision that defined the New Wave of British Heavy Metal.
  • Chuck D: The Public Enemy founder provides a unique perspective on Maiden’s cultural impact, proving that the band’s message and energy resonate far beyond the boundaries of heavy metal.
  • Lars Ulrich: The Metallica drummer also makes a prominent appearance, acknowledging the massive debt the “Big Four” of thrash owe to Steve Harris and company.

Five Decades of “Burning Ambition”

Directed by Malcolm Venville (Churchill at War) and produced by Dominic Freeman (Spirits in the Forest), the documentary is much more than a highlight reel. With “unprecedented access” to the official band archives, it covers the full spectrum of their 50-year journey:

  1. The Early Days: The raw energy of the late ’70s London pub scene.
  2. The Golden Era: Their 1980s explosion with classic albums like The Number of the Beast.
  3. The Resurgence: The triumphant 1999 reunion that sparked a modern-era dominance of global stadiums.
  4. The Archives: Rare footage, behind-the-scenes material, and even new animated sequences featuring the band’s legendary mascot, Eddie.

The film also includes poignant moments, such as what is being described as the final recorded conversation with the band’s original singer, the late Paul Di’Anno.

Release Date and Tour Tie-in

The documentary’s release is timed perfectly with Iron Maiden’s ongoing “Run For Your Lives” World Tour, which celebrates their 50th anniversary. Fans can also look forward to “EddFest,” a massive celebration at Knebworth Park set for July 2026.

“Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” is scheduled for a limited theatrical release starting May 7, 2026. Tickets officially went on sale on March 18 via the film’s dedicated website.
