New Delhi, December 11, 2025: A horrifying video clip documenting the moment a school bus carrying students was illegally stopped by intoxicated youths, who then attempted to force a Class 9 girl student to alight, has achieved massive viral success. The disturbing incident, which occurred in the Mandya district of Karnataka, instantly triggered intense public outrage, leading to the swift arrest of the accused by local police.

The Bus Is Intercepted by Miscreants

The widely circulated footage was reportedly filmed by a staff member aboard a private school bus in the KR Pet taluk of Mandya. The vehicle, which was ferrying students from the school back to nearby villages, was intercepted on the Basavanahalli–Vaddarahalli Road. Two young men, who were later confirmed to be under the influence of narcotic substances, were observed blocking the bus’s path with their scooter and forcing the moving vehicle to halt.

The driver was reportedly verbally abused and threatened, creating a terrifying atmosphere for the young passengers. The miscreants were then seen making a specific and alarming demand: that a Class 9 girl student should be immediately made to get off the bus.

Outrage and POCSO Charges Are Filed

The video, which circulated rapidly across social media, was universally condemned as a brazen act of harassment and a severe threat to the safety of minor students. The public outcry was massive, demanding immediate and strict punitive action against the perpetrators. The incident was cited as a stark failure in ensuring the security of children commuting daily.

Following a formal complaint filed by the private school management, the police acted with extreme haste. The prime accused, identified as Girish, and his associate, Kiran, both aged 20, were promptly arrested by the Kikkeri police. Authorities confirmed that the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including those related to creating a ruckus and threat, and critically, under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, in connection with the harassment of the minor girl.

School Safety Protocols Are Questioned

The incident cast a harsh spotlight on the broader issues of safety protocols surrounding school transportation and the menace of public nuisance caused by intoxicated individuals. It was stressed by parents and education advocacy groups that the security of school buses must be significantly enhanced, and that zero tolerance must be maintained against any person attempting to obstruct or interfere with school transport.

The swift legal action taken by the police was widely praised, affirming the judicial seriousness with which crimes against minors and disruptions to educational safety are treated. The case served as a clear warning that such predatory and reckless behavior will be met with immediate and stringent legal consequences.
