A highly reckless and audacious stunt involving a couple on a moving motorcycle on a public road, reportedly on a stretch near Ajmer, has gone massively viral, triggering widespread condemnation. The video, which has circulated rapidly across social media platforms, shows the pair engaged in an explicit act of public affection while the motorcycle was speeding, putting not only their own lives but the safety of other commuters at extreme risk.

The footage, captured by a passing motorist, clearly depicts the woman seated precariously on the fuel tank, facing the rider, instead of in the safe pillion position. She appears to be hugging and kissing the male rider while the bike is in motion. Notably, the video shows the woman attempting to hide her face from the camera as the passerby records the scene, suggesting an awareness of the controversial and illegal nature of their actions. Neither individual appears to be wearing a helmet, a serious violation of traffic laws which compounds the danger.

This incident is the latest in a troubling trend of “stunt biking” and risky public behaviour on India’s roads, often performed solely for the sake of creating sensational social media content. Experts and authorities continually stress that such actions violate multiple sections of the Motor Vehicles Act related to rash driving, endangering public life, and indecent public behaviour.

Police Action Initiated

Following the massive attention and public outcry generated by the clip, local police authorities have reportedly taken swift action. Based on the viral video, a probe has been initiated to identify and trace the couple and the vehicle involved.

In similar incidents across the country where couples have been seen performing such dangerous stunts on two-wheelers in public, police have registered cases under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), such as those pertaining to rash driving and obscene acts in public. Penalties often include hefty fines, vehicle seizure, and even arrests for the riders involved.

Road safety advocates have repeatedly highlighted that such dangerous antics can lead to fatal accidents. They have called on social media platforms to implement stricter guidelines to prevent the proliferation of content that encourages life-threatening stunts and promotes blatant disregard for traffic laws. This viral clip serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for both greater public responsibility and more stringent enforcement by law enforcement agencies to curb this hazardous trend.
