New Delhi, November 10, 2025: In a significant counter-terrorism operation, a large-scale terror module was neutralized in Faridabad, Haryana, on the outskirts of the National Capital Region (NCR). The joint effort by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police led to a massive seizure of explosive material and the arrest of two individuals, including a doctor from J&K.
The operation, which was based on intelligence gathered during an earlier investigation, led authorities to a rented accommodation in Faridabad’s Dhauj village. The recovered cache included:
The breakthrough resulted from the interrogation of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor initially arrested in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly pasting pro-Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) posters in Srinagar.
Dr. Rather’s confession led police to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, an assistant professor at a local university in Faridabad, who had rented the property where the explosives were stored. An AK-47 rifle had also been previously recovered from Dr. Rather’s locker at a Government Medical College in Anantnag.
Authorities are now probing a sophisticated “white-collar terror ecosystem” suspected of involving highly educated individuals, with alleged links to foreign handlers associated with terror outfits like JeM and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH). The investigation is ongoing to trace the source of the weapons and explosives and ascertain the network’s full extent and targets, which were reportedly planned for the Delhi-NCR region.
