New Delhi, February 11, 2026: A major fire broke out at a high-end car showroom in the Attapur area during the early hours of Wednesday, resulting in the complete destruction of four luxury vehicles. While the property damage is estimated to be in the tens of lakhs, fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

Incident Overview

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 AM at a prominent automobile dealership located on the main road of Attapur. Local residents and night patrollers first noticed thick plumes of black smoke billowing from the glass-fronted display area. Within minutes, the smoldering heat shattered the showroom’s windows, allowing the fire to spread rapidly across the interior floor.

Emergency Response

Upon receiving the distress call, the Telangana State Disaster Response and Fire Services dispatched three fire tenders from the nearby Rajendranagar and Langar Houz stations.

  • Arrival: Firefighters reached the spot within 15 minutes.
  • Challenges: The presence of combustible materials, including upholstery, engine oil, and fuel inside the vehicles, intensified the flames.
  • Containment: It took the emergency crews nearly two hours of intensive effort to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to adjacent commercial buildings.

Extent of Damage

Preliminary assessments by the showroom management confirm that four cars—including two SUVs and two premium sedans—were reduced to metal shells. The interior of the showroom, including the false ceiling, expensive lighting fixtures, and office furniture, sustained significant soot and heat damage.

Suspected Cause

While an official investigation is underway, fire department officials suspect a short circuit in the main electrical panel or a faulty charging point as the likely trigger. The police have registered a case and are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the showroom and surrounding buildings to rule out any possibilities of foul play or arson.

The showroom has been cordoned off for safety audits, and forensic teams are expected to visit the site later today to collect samples for further analysis.
