Modi’s Reply to INDIA Dare: Nitish Kumar to Win Big

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, made a “big Bihar statement” in the context of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections and the challenge from the INDIA bloc, which had named its Chief Ministerial face, Tejashwi Yadav, the previous day.

Speaking at an election rally, PM Modi reaffirmed the leadership of Nitish Kumar for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, stating:

• “The National Democratic Alliance, under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, will break all records and win next month’s Bihar Assembly election.”
• He also asserted that Bihar would vote for good governance and keep “jungle raj” (a term he uses for the RJD-led opposition) at bay.

This statement was significant as it came after the opposition INDIA bloc’s “dare” to the NDA to name its Chief Ministerial candidate, a question that had previously seen some ambiguity from other BJP leaders. PM Modi’s remarks were widely seen as an endorsement of Nitish Kumar as the NDA’s face for the election.
