Nursery Student Violently Assaulted by School Attendant

New Delhi, December 3, 2025: A horrifying video depicting a female school attendant viciously beating a four-year-old nursery student has been widely circulated, triggering immediate and widespread public condemnation. The footage, which shows the child being pushed to the ground, struck repeatedly, and kicked, has brought the critical issue of child safety within educational institutions into sharp focus.

The Assault Is Exposed on Camera

The disturbing video, whose location was later identified as a private school in Telangana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district (near Hyderabad), captured the attendant’s brutal actions against the minor girl. The attendant, identified as Lakshmi (55), was clearly observed in the footage striking the child multiple times, forcefully pushing her down, and even pressing her legs onto the struggling victim. The assault reportedly occurred while the child was being taken to the washroom.

The video evidence of the assault was quickly amplified across social media, leading to profound public anger and demands for swift justice. The ease with which such violence could be perpetrated within a school setting raised serious concerns among parents globally.

Legal Action Is Initiated

Following the public exposure and the distress of the child’s family, immediate police action was taken. The victim’s mother, who was also employed at the same school, lodged a formal police complaint after initially being disregarded by the school management. The child was subsequently admitted to a private hospital where injuries consistent with a severe physical attack were treated.

The accused attendant was quickly taken into police custody. A criminal case was formally registered by the police under the relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The school management was also included in the legal action for failing to ensure a safe environment for its students.

The incident has resulted in intense scrutiny of the private school’s operational standards and duty of care. Concerns were strongly raised over the lack of supervision and the alleged delay in responding to the mother’s initial report of the assault.

The focus has now shifted to demanding better vetting processes and continuous monitoring of all staff, especially those working directly with vulnerable nursery-age children.
