New Delhi, April 10, 2026 – A disturbing incident of daylight harassment has once again raised serious concerns regarding women’s safety in Rajasthan’s capital. A video capturing two men on a motorcycle molesting and heckling a woman riding a bike-taxi has gone viral on social media, sparking widespread public condemnation and a swift police response.

The incident occurred on ISKCON Road, near the busy New Sanganer Road area. According to eyewitness accounts and the circulating footage, the victim was traveling as a pillion passenger on a commercial bike-taxi when two youths on another motorcycle began tailing them.

The Incident Caught on Camera

The viral footage shows the two accused pulling up dangerously close to the bike-taxi. In a brazen display of lawlessness, the men are seen making lewd gestures and physically harassing the woman while the vehicles were in motion. Despite the presence of other commuters on the road, the duo continued their intimidating behavior for several meters before speeding away.

The video, filmed by a passerby, quickly gained traction across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, with netizens demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

Police Action and Identification

Taking suo motu cognizance of the viral video, the Jaipur Police launched an investigation even before a formal complaint was lodged. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Rajarshi Raj Varma, confirmed that the authorities used the vehicle’s registration details and CCTV footage from the stretch to identify the suspects.

The police have identified the accused as:

  • Manraj Meena
  • Sudama Meena

Both individuals are reported to be residents of the Tonk district. While the suspects have been identified, they remain at large. Special teams have been dispatched to various locations to apprehend them.

“We have traced the bike-taxi and contacted the company to identify the ride details. While the victim is currently reported to be out of the city and has not yet filed an official statement, the police are proceeding with legal action based on the evidence available,” said DCP Varma.

Political Heat and Public Safety

The incident has triggered a political firestorm in Rajasthan. Opposition leaders have seized the opportunity to criticize the current administration, alleging a “total collapse of law and order” and claiming that criminals no longer fear the police even in broad daylight.

In response, Minister of State for Home, Jawahar Singh Bedam, stated that the state government maintains a “zero-tolerance policy” toward crimes against women. He emphasized that overall crime rates have seen a decline due to proactive policing and assured that the culprits in the Jaipur case would face the strictest possible legal consequences.

Concerns Over Public Safety

This incident follows a series of viral videos from the Pink City involving public misconduct, including a recent case where a foreign tourist was harassed near Jal Mahal. Residents are now calling for increased patrolling in educational hubs and busy market areas like Sanganer and Mansarovar to ensure such brazen acts of harassment are deterred.

As of Friday, the search for Manraj and Sudama Meena continues. The Jaipur Police have urged citizens to report such incidents immediately and have assured the public that the identity of whistleblowers will remain protected.
