New Delhi, December 12, 2025: A disturbing viral video clip documenting a public, racist outburst targeting Somali American customers has triggered widespread condemnation and, crucially, a powerful wave of support from local leaders. The incident, which was immediately circulated online, prompted elected officials and community organizations to issue firm statements of solidarity, publicly affirming the value and belonging of the Somali American community in the face of bigotry.
The highly upsetting video, which first gained traction on platforms like TikTok, was reportedly filmed in a retail store or food establishment in Wisconsin. The footage captured a female employee behind a counter using vile racist slurs against a Black Somali Muslim couple. The employee was observed escalating the confrontation, explicitly declaring, “I am racist and I’ll say it to the whole entire world.” Additionally, the woman’s derogatory mockery of the female customer’s hijab was also recorded, further cementing the hateful nature of the attack.
The customers, who were described as being traumatized by the unprovoked verbal assault, posted the video, which quickly generated immense public anger and media attention across the United States.

The incident led to immediate employment consequences, with the store’s corporate owner confirming the employee was “immediately terminated” by the franchise owner. Beyond the corporate response, civil rights groups, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), welcomed the firing and used the event to call for broader action.
The incident was cited by advocates as a painful reminder of the persistent anti-Black and anti-Somali racism prevalent in the country. The public stand taken by local leaders was acknowledged as a crucial step toward ensuring that all residents are treated with dignity and respect, sending a clear signal that hatred in all its forms will be firmly rejected by civic institutions.
