New Delhi, October 31, 2025: A video clip, allegedly showing actor Sonu Sood openly supporting RJD candidate Khesari Lal Yadav in the upcoming Bihar elections, has been widely circulated on various social media platforms. In the fabricated audio, the actor is purportedly heard encouraging people to support Khesari Lal Yadav, who is said to be contesting the election from the Chhapra constituency. The statement also was made to criticize those who were opposing the candidate’s decision to enter politics.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the viral video is not authentic. The footage has been identified as being technically manipulated through an editing process known as dubbing or audio substitution. Careful examination of the clip revealed inconsistencies where the movement of the actor’s lips was not synchronized with the voice being heard. This visual evidence strongly suggested that the original audio had been replaced by a different recording.

The authentic video clip, which was used to create the fabricated content, was successfully traced to Sonu Sood’s official social media accounts. The original video was posted by the actor on his Instagram account on October 25, 2025. In the actual message, a philosophical and humanitarian thought was shared by Sonu Sood with his followers.
He was heard reciting a message advocating for greater compassion and sharing resources, stating, “If you have more than you need, build bigger tables, not taller walls, so that more people can eat with you.” No mention of any political candidate, the Bihar elections, or Khesari Lal Yadav was made in the original unedited speech.
The creation and dissemination of such manipulated videos during election season are considered to be a serious violation of ethical conduct. It is emphasized by fact-checking bodies that this video was created to mislead the public and influence electoral outcomes.
The practice of using celebrity images without consent to promote political agendas is viewed with significant concern. Correct information is urged to be shared by social media users, and the public is advised to exercise caution before believing any unverified claims being circulated online. Legal action could be initiated against those who are found responsible for creating and propagating such false content.
