New Delhi, November 18, 2025: A video chronicling the negative experience of a Korean digital creator, Walter K, who was allegedly scammed in Delhi by an elderly man who introduced himself as a “professor,” has been widely disseminated across Instagram and other social media platforms.

The lengthy clip, which was posted with the title “Worst Experience in India,” narrates the sequence of events that transformed the final evening of his trip into a frightening ordeal. The footage was used by the tourist to document the alleged fraud, quickly turning the private incident into a major public talking point.

The trouble is reported to have begun with an auto-rickshaw driver demanding an exorbitantly high fare. However, the more serious issue was initiated when the elderly man was encountered near Old Delhi. The individual, who was seen to be friendly and trustworthy, was presented as a professor who offered to show the tourist around. Trust was built through this initial amicable interaction, leading the traveler to accept the offer of local guidance.

Escalation of the Deception

The incident was escalated as the self-proclaimed professor allegedly began forcing the traveler to pay for all transport and other expenses, which were often heavily inflated. While an arrangement to share costs was initially agreed upon, the scammer later backed out, claiming his wife would object to him spending money. This pattern of deception was meticulously documented in the viral video, which was subtitled and was shared to detail the struggle.

The Korean man was subjected to nearly an hour of pressure, during which he almost lost a substantial sum of money, reportedly around $100. The situation was finally resolved after local Indian citizens were alerted to the scam and intervened on the tourist’s behalf. The confrontation that was staged by the helpful locals resulted in the elderly man hastily fleeing the scene, and the traveler was secured in another rickshaw.

Public Outrage and Call for Action

The video has sparked widespread outrage online, with many Indian viewers expressing deep embarrassment and regret over the incident. Numerous calls have been made for the Delhi Police and tourism authorities to take swift action against individuals who are known to target unsuspecting foreign visitors. The consensus among the public is that the image of the country is severely harmed by such isolated, predatory acts.

Despite the negative experience, the video was concluded on a positive note, as the tourist maintained that the good people he had met in India far outnumbered the bad. He expressed profound thankfulness that he was not physically hurt and that his money was recovered. The video has served as a dual-edged message: a warning to tourists about being overly trusting and a compelling plea to local authorities to ensure that travelers are protected from such scams.
