Tania Suri: From Event Management to the World of Influence

0

New Delhi: From event management to the world of lifestyle influencing, the beautiful journey of Tania Suri makes you believe that if you follow your heart, you’re never going to regret anything.

As they say, the longest journey starts with a single step. It is true for Tania. It all started with her first stint with an event management firm in her hometown of Delhi, right after her post-graduation. As a crazy Michael Jackson fan, her desire to host his concert one day pulled her towards event management. During her stint as an event manager, she got the opportunity to work on the first ever IPL in 2008, and since then She has been involved in some of the major sports events in India, like the IPL, the WC T20 2016 and 2021, the PBL, the PKL, the PVL, and others. Being an avid follower of cricket, she wishes to work on more and more sporting events.

Along with sports and events, she has always been passionate about music and has worked on some big concerts in India. She even dabbled in artist management as a manager for Bollywood star Arjun Kapoor in YRF, as well as many other music talents during her stint with Qyuki Digital Media. But sports events have always been her first love, and she now focuses mostly on working in the ever-blooming sports industry. Most recently, she has been working with a big media house as a broadcast talent manager while still maintaining a balance as a lifestyle influencer.

In an interview with GrowJust India, she said, This happened completely by chance. When I was a manager for an established Bollywood star, I had a modest Instagram following. Subsequently, I began going to various influencer gatherings with my close friend Kanisha Malhotra, who is also an actor and influencer, who persuaded the PR to add me as a guest on their list of influencers, thus beginning my journey as an influencer. Even though I am not a content producer like so many other great individuals out there, it has been enjoyable.

However, I must admit that this was helpful during the lockdown when we were all stranded at home. Campaigns and collaborations provided me a sense of being active when I had no work at all.

Throughout the past few months, I have had the absolute privilege of working with some incredible brands. At this point, I have collaborated with over 150 brands, including Charles & Keith, Lays, Skybags, Lavie, Oriflame, Marks & Spencer, Monginis, Godrej, MCFC, Renault, Benetton, and a plethora of others. Of course, everyone wants to work with well-known companies, but I’ve also had some great experiences working with smaller, domestic companies. I adore working with brands that have a vision and stick to it.

I am very certain that I want to continue working in the sports industry. I’m also keen on growing as a person, with a particular emphasis on the social media influence I’ve grown to really appreciate, and lastly, I would like to encourage everyone reading this to follow their hearts and pursue whatever brings them happiness. In addition, make an effort to maintain your optimism while being aware of your emotions, asking for assistance when necessary, and lending a helping hand whenever you can. More than ever, the world needs you to be nice and spread joy.

Exclusive: Meet Dr. Ashish Rawandale Patil, Founder of P-Flow

0

Exclusive: P-Flow has been an encouraging journey that has borne fruit at the end of a steep uphill journey. It all started when a family member had to undergo a urine flow test (uroflowmetry), a test done in a urological hospital. The test tells the urologist whether the kidney and urine flow passage of the patient are normal or not.

This helps to diagnose diseases like the prostate, stricture, urinary incontinence, repeated urinary tract infections, neurological problems, and others. The idea came up while filling an ice tray with water, and the idea was further developed during COVID times and implemented to measure fluid flow speed. This concept was later extrapolated for urine flow measurement.

In an interview, Dr. Ashish Rawandale said: I completed my MBBS from BJ Medical College Pune, my MS in General Surgery from the same college, my MCh in Urology from Bombay Hospital, and my DNB in Urology from AIIMS New Delhi. After passing out, I started a 20-bed urology setup in Dhule, Maharashtra, which is a rural area. Gradually, we increased the bed strength of this hospital to 110. We became a private limited company and then got listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange in due course. Tejnaksh now has centres in Kopar Khairane, and Uran.

As innovators, we have 18 patents applied for and five granted. 5 innovation awards by the Urological Society of India 2 Guinness World Records, 2 India, and 2 Asia in the Book of Records Have featured in Ripley’s Believe it or not. We are pioneers in surgical simulation for urology. Tejnaksh now has an innovative product division that manufactures surgical simulators for urology training. The simulators have been accepted and used by the Urological Society of India and the Arab School of Urology. We are also installed in countries like India, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, to mention a few.

During innovation, among the many challenges, the most important ones are finding sound technical skills, a sound advisory body, and precision manufacturing companies.

Shark Tank has been an exciting journey right from the time we applied for it online on the Sony Live app. The various online and offline screening rounds were indeed a learning process. The finale was the five-day shoot at Yashraj Studios, where we nailed the final pitch for the first time in front of the sharks.

P-flow is a disposable urine flow measuring device. The advantage of the test is that It does not need a hospital setup, electricity, or trained personnel to operate the machine. The test can now be done at home in our comfort and at our convenience. The patient has to upload a photograph onto the online platform, and the report generated is delivered to the patient’s mobile phone. The patient then knows if his flow is normal or not and whether he needs to see a doctor. Thus, uroflowmetry is now a doorstep test that can be done by patients who cannot reach the hospital or are wheelchair-bound or bedridden.

The business turnover of the uroflowmetry division is around 1,000,000 a month at the moment and is gradually moving upward. The vision is to make P-flow a home-based device available in every house in India, just like blood sugar measuring devices and pregnancy tests. This will help diagnose problems with the urinary passage on time and save a lot of kidneys.

EXCLUSIVE! Meet Sucheta Deb Burman, Founder of the Open Water Swimmers Foundation

0

New Delhi: Sucheta Deb Burman, founder of the Open Water Swimmers Foundation, was born in Agartala and raised in Bangalore. She says, I may be a Bangalore girl, but my heart belongs in Agartala, Tripura. Since her father is an NIS/SAI (Sports Authority of India) swimming coach, she started swimming at the age of 4 and, till the age of 21, she has won several national medals.

In 2017, she fractured her spine, and after 6 months of her injury, she started hydrotherapy, and a year later, she won her first open water swimming competition in August 2018.

Swimming is always in her blood! She started swimming at the age of 4 and also swam for her swimming club, Triton, coached by her father, Mr. ND Burman, Coach of the National Institute of Sports (NIS, Patiala), who has coached several Olympians. With Triton, she swam for her school, college, and university, eventually moving up to the state and national levels.

However Training is tough, but when you are passionate and committed about something, nothing can stop you! She used to start her day at 4:00 a.m. to meditate and mentally prepare for her swim: analyse previous swims, focus on technique for speed and endurance. She used to train 25–50 hours a week to get faster and stronger every day! Through all this hard work, preparation, and training, she swam with a smile, enjoyed every stroke, and evolved to embrace the physical pain and fatigue. It is challenging, but her passion, dedication, and love for the sport grow stronger every day!

Apart from being an elite ultramarathon swimmer, Sucheta Deb Burman is the NIS Open Water Coach for triathletes, open water swim enthusiasts, and TRIKIDS, a venture where she believes that a sporting conscience needs to be developed early in life. Where they can create a healthy lifestyle and a child’s talent is nurtured and trained to be the best future athletes. In their frequent open-water swims, they also clean the lakes where they swim, both in the water and on the periphery of the lake. It’s her way of giving back to nature as she lets her swim and strives towards being a better swimmer.

Sucheta Deb Burman
Sucheta Deb Burman, Founder of the Open Water Swimmers Foundation

She says, With support and encouragement from everyone around me, I will make my country proud and be recognised in international marathon swimming. I wanted to swim across the Sea of Galilee. It had been a dream for me for a long time! A 4-way swim in water below 18 degrees centigrade. In 10 years, I hope to achieve honour for my country by swimming the 13 toughest swims in the world.

In two years, Sucheta will be 40 years old, and to start this memorable decade, she plans to attempt a solo 400-kilometre sea swim around the Indian peninsula. Ms. Sucheta Deb Burman, an ultra-marathon swimmer, recently completed a two-way swim across the Palk Strait, covering a distance of 62 kilometres.

She began swimming at Dhanushkodi Old Harbour at 4:45 PM on March 15 and completed the record-breaking swim in 19 hours and 31 minutes. She arrived at the turning point Talaimannar at 5:00 AM on March 16 and finished at Arichal Munai at 12:20 PM. She is the first Indian woman to achieve this achievement while swimming.

Due to a shoulder ailment, she had to abandon her previous attempt at this swim in 2022 at the 34-kilometer mark. She returned to take up this unfinished swim after training harder than ever during the previous year, but more mindful of her limitations.

She persisted in getting to the illusive finish line despite encountering the erratic ocean (marine life, weather, and climate). She swam 40 kilometres (7 miles) from Bandra Worli Sea Link to Elephanta in Mumbai at night in 7 hours and 26 minutes as a preparation run for this emotionally and physically taxing swim in January.

Sucheta Deb Burman is one of India’s most valuable international assets. It is not that easy to swim, but she has achieved one of the most important feats and one that will also remain in our minds in the future.

Shivam Singh Rana discusses influencer marketing in 2023

0

New Delhi: In the digital world, influencer marketing is one such aspect. It is an online media marketing strategy in which brands endorse and create awareness of the product or service through influencers who have strong social influence in their field.

And now that social media has taken over to reach the masses, especially during the time of COVID, influencers and content creators have leveraged it the most as brands have started to realise the true power of influencer marketing online.

Shivam Singh Rana is a fashion, lifestyle, and comedy creator and math teacher by profession. The creator has made a huge impact by working with brands such as Dw, Puma, etc. on Instagram, where he has a 140k+ fan following and Josh has over 4 million+ followers. One famous proverb states that “the only constant is change.” But something in life never really changes; it just gains popularity over time and becomes a trend. He says, I am a teacher by profession, but social media is also a good career path.

When questioned, Shivam said he has built his brand and gained engaged followers on Instagram. What advice does he have for growing a personal brand to this level?

To begin with, Shivam answered by thanking all her lovely followers for the overwhelming response he received to his channels. He also stated that he has managed various brands and that he has discovered that brands that use social media as an advertising medium see an increase in sales, particularly start-up brands. He said he has managed brands like Zed TV, Colours TV, Cartoon Network, and many other big brands.

In answer to the question, he responded that social media has given creators a platform for development. If you’re good at something, there isn’t a need to perform in front of petty judges to increase the TRP. All you have to do is showcase your talent on social media the way he did.
