PM Modi calls the father of the student killed in Kharkiv

Russia-Ukraine crisis: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to the father of Indian student Naveen Shekharappa Gyanagoudar, who died in shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine, earlier in the day. Besides that PM called a high-level meeting later in the day in the wake of the tragedy.

The state government official said in a statement that the student was a resident of Karnataka’s Haveri district.

Earlier Basavaraj Bommai, the chief minister mourned the death of 21 years old final year medical student from Haveri in the state. He said that the government are trying to bring the deceased’s body back to the country. He added that two persons also were with the deceased at the time of shelling. “One of them also got injured. They are also from Chalageri and Ranebennur taluk of Haveri district,”

Bommai was quoted the lines.

Ukraine’s ambassador to India Igor Polikha paid a visit to the ministry of external affairs (MEA). MEA said that the ministry is in touch with the family of the student. “We convey our deepest condolences to the family,” it said.

Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson said that foreign secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla was calling in the ambassador of Russia and Ukraine to reiterate India’s demand for urgent safe passage for its nationals who are still in Kharkiv and cities in other conflict zones. The person added, “The Indian side reiterated its demand to Russia and Ukraine for safety and safe passage for Indian nationals caught up in conflict zones, mostly in eastern and southern Ukraine.”

Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also condoled the death and called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lead the government to draw up a strategy for the safe evacuation of all stranded Indians.

Kharkiv is the second-largest city in Ukraine. The city has watched 10 deaths and injuries in 35 people during the day in rocket strikes by Russian forces. In a social media post, interior ministry adviser Anton Herashchenko said the toll would rise as debris was being cleared.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine was on its sixth day and came at a cost of unprecedented sanctions on the Kremlin by the West and an outpouring of global condemnation. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the European Parliament during the day.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI): The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University, has established an Entrepreneurship E-Cell. Their main goal is to provide information about the intricacies of the entrepreneurship ecosystem among the interested students.

The university has set up this cell for helping the learners become successful entrepreneurs. The members of the board are planning to conduct workshops, multiple sessions, guest lectures by renowned and accurately experienced people from the world of entrepreneurship and startups.

JMI E-Cell

The new E-Cell also helps and provides all kinds of support to the alumni and current university students so that they can fulfil their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs to some extent. This innovative idea will help their ambition to reach the state of incubation. And only then a complete matured startup from the very basic state of an idea.

The university added to its official statement that the Cell is building an investors pool and contacting multiple mentors and experts from the industry to provide resource allocation to the interested students with the help of the CIE, JMI.

Some of the workshops will be organised within this E-Cell related to the topic of patents, intellectual property rights, ideation, funding pitch making, business canvas model and design. The Cell will also organise several field trips to incubation centres, specific startups and other institutions related to the entrepreneurship set-up.

JMI builds Club and Teams under the E-Cell

Related to the specific areas of entrepreneurship many clubs have been developed for this Cell. These are-

  • Robotics Club
  • Biotech Club
  • Programming Club
  • Finance Club
  • Research Club
  • Entrepreneurship Club

Several teams have also been established for supervising the work of the above-mentioned clubs. The teams are-

In a discussion with film critic Sucharita Tyagi on her YouTube channel, Shakun said, “I had an e-mail where the subject was B****d (a Hindi cuss word). Then the mail just said, ‘B****d picture banani Nahi aati hai to kyun banata hai? Kuch aur kar leta (If you don’t know how to make a film, why do you? Do something else).”

The filmmaker added that he has also got some positive responses. He told, “Then, I had an email from a psychologist in Brisbane who said the psychology of the characters added up to him. I feel cognitive dissonance. I have made peace with two completely opposing thoughts in my mind. I don’t know how it happened. But, I think forget about the movie, it’s growth in me to have accepted the polarisation. I think I have grown.”

After the success of Gehraiyaan, Deepika revealed her parents’ reaction. The actress disclosed that her parents felt extremely proud after watching her in Gehraiyaan. Deepika said, “They are extremely proud. And of course, they do find it a little difficult to disassociate me from the actor, so they usually take time. It does affect them. They’re my family, my parents. Of course, it affects them, but they were extremely appreciative and proud of my performance.”

Gehraiyaan was released on February 11 on Amazon Prime Video. Naseeruddin Shah, Dhairya Karwa and Rajat Kapoor also feature in this film is very important roles.
