The Catalyst: A Water Balloon Dispute

The unrest began on the night of March 4 (Holi) in the JJ Colony of Uttam Nagar. According to police reports, the violence was sparked when an 11-year-old girl, playing on her terrace, threw a water balloon that accidentally splashed a woman from a different community passing by on the road.
