New Delhi, january 20, 2026: Amazon has officially expanded its smart home portfolio in India with the launch of the Echo Show 11 and the Echo Show 8 (4th Gen). These next-generation smart displays are more than just screen upgrades; they represent a significant shift toward “ambient intelligence,” where your home assistant anticipates your needs before you even speak.
Accompanying the hardware launch is a major teaser for Alexa Plus, Amazon’s upcoming AI-revamped subscription service, signaling a new era of generative AI for Indian households.
The new lineup features a modern, sleek design with edge-to-edge glass and significantly slimmer bezels. Both devices are powered by Amazon’s custom AZ3 Pro silicon, designed specifically to handle faster AI processing and complex sensor data.
The Echo Show 11 is the star of the show, featuring a vibrant 11-inch Full HD touchscreen.
The updated Echo Show 8 features an 8.7-inch HD display. While smaller, it shares the same high-end features as its larger sibling, including the upgraded audio system and the 13MP camera with noise reduction technology.
Both devices introduce Omnisense, a custom sensor-fusion platform. This technology allows the Echo Show to be “aware” of its surroundings in a way previous models weren’t.
The most exciting news for tech enthusiasts is the mention of Alexa Plus (also referred to as Alexa+). Built from the ground up on Large Language Models (LLMs), Alexa Plus is designed to be more conversational, personal, and action-oriented.
Amazon teased that these new Echo devices are “purpose-built” for the Alexa Plus experience. While the full service is currently in “Early Access,” it promises to handle multi-step requests—like planning a full week of meals based on your dietary restrictions and automatically adding the ingredients to your Amazon Fresh cart.
