The highly anticipated Nothing Phone (3) is rapidly approaching its official unveiling in July 2025, and the company has begun its customary teaser campaign, offering tantalizing glimpses of its design and hinting at a significant leap forward in its product philosophy. Nothing CEO Carl Pei has referred to the Phone (3) as the brand’s “first true flagship smartphone,” signaling a departure from its previous “premium mid-range” positioning.
The latest teaser images and videos reveal a continuation of Nothing’s distinctive transparent aesthetic, but with subtle yet intriguing refinements. One notable detail is a close-up shot of a textured button, possibly featuring a Braille-like surface, suggesting a potential emphasis on accessibility and tactile interaction. This aligns with Nothing’s reputation for innovative and user-centric design. Furthermore, the teaser hints at a dual-tone finish, reminiscent of the CMF Phone (2) Pro’s white and orange variants, indicating a sophisticated approach to color and material.
Beyond the physical design, the teasers also suggest an evolution of the iconic Glyph Interface – the customizable LED lighting system on the phone’s rear. There are hints of a “new dots” interface, possibly involving a dot-matrix style display on the back, which could offer more advanced visual cues for notifications and real-time interactions. While secondary displays on the back of phones aren’t entirely new, Nothing is expected to deliver a more minimalist and integrated take on the concept.
Carl Pei has emphasized that the Phone (3) will be built with “premium materials” and deliver “major performance upgrades,” alongside an “AI-driven software experience designed to elevate overall usability.” This focus on AI is a key differentiator, with expectations of features like context-aware UI suggestions, smarter voice commands, enhanced camera capabilities, and machine learning-powered battery optimization. This builds upon the AI features already seen in the Nothing Phone (3a) series and the CMF Phone (2) Pro, such as the TrueLens Engine 3 (an AI-powered camera system) and the Essential Key.
While official specifications remain under wraps, leaks and industry whispers paint a picture of a powerful device. The Nothing Phone (3) is widely expected to be powered by a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, with speculation pointing towards either the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 or the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This would mark a significant performance leap from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 found in the Phone (2).
Other rumored specifications include a 6.77-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Battery-wise, a robust 5,000mAh unit is anticipated, supporting 50W wired and 20W wireless charging. The camera system is also slated for an upgrade, with leaks suggesting a triple-rear camera setup, potentially including a high-resolution main sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and, notably, a periscope-style telephoto camera – a first for a Nothing device. A 32-megapixel or 50-megapixel Sony sensor is rumored for the front camera.
Regarding pricing, Carl Pei has hinted at a global price point of around EUR 800 (approximately Rs 90,500). However, Nothing is known for its competitive pricing strategy in India, and while a significant jump from the Phone (2)’s Rs 44,999 starting price is expected, it’s unlikely to be a direct conversion. Current speculation suggests an Indian price range of Rs 55,000 to Rs 65,000 for the base variant, positioning it directly against other flagship contenders in the market.
As the July launch approaches, Nothing is expected to gradually reveal more details, building anticipation for what could be its most ambitious smartphone offering to date. All eyes will be on how Nothing’s blend of unique design, powerful hardware, and AI-driven software experience translates into a compelling “true flagship” experience.
