Vacancy Distribution and Eligibility
The total of 2,785 vacancies is distributed across various refinery units and trade disciplines throughout the country.
- Maximum Vacancies: The highest number of openings is at Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex (707 posts) and Gujarat Refinery (583 posts).
- Other Locations: Significant vacancies are also available at Paradip, Barauni, Haldia, Mathura, Bongaigaon, Digboi, and Guwahati refineries.
Eligibility Highlights
The recruitment covers Trade Apprentices (Technical and Non-Technical), Technician Apprentices, and Graduate Apprentices. Educational requirements vary by discipline:
- Trade Apprentice (ITI): Typically Matric (10th) with ITI in the relevant trade (e.g., Fitter).
- Technician Apprentice: Three-year Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical).
- Trade Apprentice (Non-ITI/Graduate): Requires a qualification like Class XII pass, B.Sc. (Maths, Physics, Chemistry), or B.Com for roles like Data Entry Operator, Attendant Operator, Accountant, and Secretarial Assistant.
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 24 years as of November 30, 2025. Age relaxation is provided for candidates belonging to SC/ST, OBC-NCL, and PwBD categories as per government rules.
Selection and Stipend
The selection of candidates will primarily be on a Merit Basis.
- Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on the percentage of marks obtained in their qualifying examination (ITI, Diploma, or Degree).
- Document Verification (DV): Shortlisted candidates will be called for Document Verification to confirm the authenticity of their educational and other certificates.
- Medical Examination: Finally, a medical examination will be conducted to ensure fitness for the job.
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act and company norms. The training period is typically 12 to 24 months, offering hands-on experience in a real-world industrial environment, which is invaluable for future employment prospects in the energy sector.
