New Delhi, December 27, 2025: The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) has officially declared the results and category-wise cut-off marks for the 2025 Common Recruitment of Grade II Police Constables, Jail Warders, and Firemen. Following the written examination held on November 9, 2025, the board released the provisional shortlist on December 26, 2025, marking a significant milestone for thousands of uniformed service aspirants in the state.

Official Cut-Off Marks 2025 (Category-Wise)

The cut-off marks represent the minimum score required in the main written exam (out of 70) to qualify for the next stage. As per the official notification, the cut-off varies significantly based on category, gender, and special reservations like PSTM (Persons Studied in Tamil Medium).

Minimum Qualifying Marks

To even be considered for the merit list, candidates had to clear two primary hurdles:

  1. Tamil Language Eligibility Test (Paper 1): Candidates must score at least 40% (32 marks out of 80). This paper is qualifying in nature and its marks are not added to the final merit.
  2. Main Written Exam (Paper 2): A minimum of 25 marks was required as a baseline qualifying score, though the actual competitive cut-off (as shown above) is much higher.

Shortlist Statistics and Selection Ratio

For the 3,644 vacancies advertised this year, TNUSRB has shortlisted a total of 18,689 candidates.

  • Initial Shortlist: 17,935 candidates.
  • Additional Shortlist: 649 candidates were added later to address an ST category shortfall and to include those with equal cut-off marks.
  • Selection Ratio: The board has maintained a ratio of approximately 1:5 for the upcoming physical tests.

What’s Next for Qualified Candidates?

Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the PDF must now prepare for the CV, PMT, ET, and PET stages:

  • Certificate Verification (CV): Validating original educational and community documents.
  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT): Checking height and chest (for men) standards.
  • Endurance Test (ET): Typically a 1500m run for men (in 7 mins) and a 400m run for women.
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This stage carries 24 marks and includes events like rope climbing, long jump/high jump, and running.

How to Check Your Result

  1. Visit the official website: www.tnusrb.tn.gov.in.
  2. Locate the link “List of candidates eligible for Next Phase of Selection.”
  3. Download the PDF and use Ctrl+F to search for your exam roll number.

Successful candidates are advised to begin intensive physical training immediately, as the PET marks often play a deciding role in the final merit list for the 18,200 – 67,100 pay scale positions.
