New Delhi, February 13, 2026: In a world where celebrity link-ups travel faster than a movie trailer, actress Mrunal Thakur has finally broken her silence on the swirling rumors of a Valentine’s Day wedding with South superstar Dhanush. With her characteristic wit and a dash of sarcasm, the Sita Ramam star didn’t just deny the reports—she turned them into a comedy set.
The internet has been abuzz for weeks with claims that Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush were set to tie the knot on February 14, 2026. However, during a recent promotional event for her upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, Mrunal decided to play along with the absurdity of the gossip.
When asked by reporters about the supposed “day after tomorrow” wedding, Mrunal laughed and quipped:
“Guys, aaj meri haldi hai, kal sangeet hai. Please khana kha lena (Guys, today is my haldi, tomorrow is my sangeet. Please make sure to eat before you leave).”
Her co-star, Siddhant Chaturvedi, joined in on the banter, suggesting that fans should line up outside her house dressed as bridegrooms on February 14th to see what happens.
Mrunal expressed her disbelief at how specific and persistent the rumors had become. In an interview with Galatta Plus, she noted that February 14th seems to have been mistaken for April 1st this year.
“I think February 14 is going to be April Fools’ Day,” she said. “I don’t know who started this. It’s a scary space right now because people spread rumors like ‘Mrunal officially confirmed her marriage.’ I’ve been quoted for things I never even said!”
The speculation surrounding Mrunal and Dhanush didn’t appear out of thin air. It traces back to a series of public appearances and social media interactions:
Despite the “wedding” noise, both actors are currently neck-deep in professional commitments.
Mrunal clarified that while she loves the feeling of being in love and plans to “flaunt it to the world” when it eventually happens, she isn’t in a rush to get married just for the sake of it. For now, the only thing she’s “marrying” is her busy release schedule.
