The brazen nature of the theft was captured in multiple clips that have since amassed millions of views. In the footage, people were observed stopping their vehicles, including cars and scooters, to load the decorative pots. One particularly widely shared video featured a man on a two-wheeler, holding a party flag while attempting to balance several pots on his lap. It was noted by frustrated onlookers and netizens that the individuals involved appeared to be from economically stable backgrounds, leading to a heated debate about the “poor mindset” of the urban middle class.

Lucknow Development Authority’s Response
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has confirmed the scale of the loss, stating that over 4,000 flower pots were missing from the venue and surrounding roads. Officials from the horticulture department revealed that nearly 7,000 plants worth approximately ₹10 lakh were looted within 24 hours of the ceremony. In response to the viral evidence, the LDA vice-chairman has directed the filing of an FIR (First Information Report) against those identified in the videos. To prevent further losses, authorities were seen manually shifting the remaining 30,000 pots to the safety of Lohia Park.
