New Delhi, November 20, 2025: Miss India, Manika Vishwakarma, delivered a truly unforgettable performance at the Miss Universe 2025 National Costume Show, donning a breathtaking gold and saffron ensemble that served as a profound tribute to India’s spiritual heritage. Titled “The Birth of Enlightenment,” her intricate, sculptural gown was immediately hailed as one of the evening’s most dramatic and meaningful presentations.
The majestic costume, rich in symbolic detail and regal splendour, was inspired by one of the most sacred moments in Buddhist tradition: the instant Prince Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment beneath the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, radiating wisdom and peace across the world.
Vishwakarma’s look was a masterful blend of traditional Indian cultural motifs and high-fashion couture. The colour palette of regal gold and saffron hues was chosen to symbolise divinity, purity, power, and the eternal light of knowledge.
As Manika graced the stage in Thailand, the host introduced her attire as an honour to the moment “when the Buddha attains enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree.” Her poised walk and meaningful hand gestures enhanced the spiritual narrative, transforming the appearance into a powerful presentation of India’s deep philosophical and cultural traditions. The sheer visual impact, coupled with the profound historical and spiritual context, made Miss India a standout contestant.
Vishwakarma, who is representing India at the 74th Miss Universe ceremony, showcased not just a costume but a piece of living heritage, flawlessly merging the sacred origins of Buddhism with the spectacle of an international stage. Her golden, sculpted look has garnered immense appreciation globally and cemented her place among the favourites in the competition.
